Gift Ideas for Co-workers
"Hi Cassandra, what a fantastic site. I am having difficulty in selecting a gift for a co-worker I don't know very well and I am on a tight budget. Do you have any suggestions?" -Jenni, AL
Hi Jenni. Thanks so much for the compliment. I agree, choosing a gift for a co-worker can be difficult. I suggest stepping into her office or by her desk to make some pleasant small talk. It can be about the weather, work, television, or just to say, "Good morning. How are you today?"
While you are there observe her desk and wall area. Is she drinking a cup of coffee or tea? If so, then check out my coffee and tea gift page. Does she have pictures of her children, husband, or dog out? She may like a personalized gift in the form of an engraved picture frame. If stopping by her desk gives you no clues, then try asking her friends or other co-workers. If all else fails, consider gifting her with some fresh flowers for her desk. Good Luck!

High School Graduation Gift Idea
"Cassandra, I really hope you can help me. I have a 17-year-old grandson. He will be graduating from high school this year. Any ideas on a gift?
Thanks." -Leigh, UT
Hi Leigh. Is he planning on attending college? If so, consider a dorm-sized refrigerator for his dorm room. If he will be living in an apartment, a gift card to the local grocery store will be appreciated. I know how teenage boys can eat.
If he is planning on working rather than attending college, how about a gift certificate to a resume service? With the price of gas, a gas card gift is a thoughtful gift regardless of his plans. Leigh, I urge you to check out my page on graduation gift ideas. If you don't find anything that appeals to you, please let me know and I will work harder. Good Luck!

Corporate Gift Ideas
"Cassandra, please help me. I interviewed for a job and got the job, but I am afraid I am in over my head. My boss said I will be responsible for sending out sympathy gifts on behalf of the company if any employees suffer a loss. He also said I will be in charge of retirement gifts and gifts for our customers and clients. I have trouble choosing a gift for my husband. How am I going to choose gifts for people I don't know? I really like this job and don't want to lose it." In a panic, Camee, MS

Gift Idea for New Publisher
"I am buying for good friend and client a gift for a reception and book signing this Saturday evening celebrating first published novel. Many thanks for your assistance and for your site." Peter, Boca Raton, FL
Congratulations for your friend, he must be very excited. Since you need a gift for this weekend, you can pretty much rule out online shopping unless you are willing to pay additional shipping fees. Given your time frame, you may have to consider a visit to your local mall.
I would recommend a personalized gift idea for your friend, and something related to being a writer. These types of gifts can be found in the business section of the companies that offer them. There are many on the page for you to do your research and find something at the mall. There are some more personalized gift services on our Corporate Gift Idea page.
The personalized wine would be great if he loved wine and you had time to allow for delivery. Most writers I know are regular coffee drinkers. If that fits, you might sign him up for a coffee or tea delivery service.
I hope this helps you!
